Listed below is just some of the customer feedback we have received about Jabajak's restaurant and accommodation. We aim to update this every quarter if we can - although please note that summer is a busy time for us.

The feedback below is a selection from the guest book that is left available for all our visitors to fill in during their stay and/or from emails. Eviivo who have recently started handling some or our bookings also publish reviews. Other sites are avaiable.

It is with pleasure that I feel obliged to write to say how very much we enjoyed both the meal and the general environment and atmosphere of the restaurant. Every aspect of Jabajak left us totally satisfied and content...Despite a wet and grey evening, the location was impressive. ...Not only was the food, furnishing, decoration, etc, all most tastefully presented to a high standard, but the warmth and cordiality of the management and staff was a joy. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Wished I'd got the recipes off you...It was really interesting seeing the change from 5 years ago. A lot of places would have become pretentious but not Jabajak....as calming and soulful as ever!

A reluctant comment about third party review sites

At Jabajak we run our business at an intimate level - by the owners for the customers. We set our standards high and all our guests are welcomed wholeheartedly; as we would welcome a friend. As we are a remote location, we are fortunate to receive a good deal of repeat business from loyal customers, both corporate and leisure, especially lone travellers.

However, we also rely on the Internet to promote ourselves to prospective customers who do not realise we exist because we are so rural, even though we are just minutes off the main road. (Unfortunately for us, the Highways Authority has strict rules about new brown signage on this trunk road, which is why we have to give careful advice on how to find us.)

Our policy is not to ask customers to place favourable reviews online - although we are very grateful when they do. We appreciate that people stay at Jabajak in order to relax and to step away from their busy lives.

We are also aware that the credibility of third party reviews sites has suffered because they are highly susceptible to fraud, whether it be 'spoiler' reviews by rivals or abuse by hotels using marketing companies to manipulate reviews. (Guests often tell us they are instantly suspicious of establishments with hundreds of five-star reviews - especially in tough times) Many Review Sites are simply businesses, who make money from the sale of subscriptions. Some appear to have neither the resources nor the inclination to police the abuse of their systems, even when fraud is pointed out to them, a fact that has received much adverse media coverage recently. In the real world, most guests are happy just to say 'thanks for looking after us' and they just tell their friends. May we take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our guests, including those who take the time and trouble to post kind words about us online or write to us, which we really appreciate. We run an honest business, and you can be assured that all of the reviews posted above are 100% genuine.
